1. Brief Introduction

As the transparency of PP sheets is inferior to that of PET sheets, PET sheets are mainly used in case the transparency is required up to now. Now it is possible to replace expensive PET sheets with PP sheets because the transparency of PP sheets has been solved by using PP Transparent masterbatch developed recently. In addition, as the specific gravity as well as raw material cost of PP is lower than those of PET, the production cost of PP sheets can be saved by approx. 30% compared to PET sheets.

There are two zones; one is a crystalline particle zone and the other is amorphous particle zone. Transparency is decided by the ratio of crystalization, but it is also affected by the fact whether the chain structure of the molecular is regular or irregular. PP Transparent Nucleating Masterbatch(PTNM) developed by us improves the transparency of PP products by using the resin with similar chain structure to the base resin for the production of this item.

3. How to use PTNM

As the transparency of PP resin is decreased around its softening point (130~170℃) due to the broken of its molecular chain structure, quenching is required when produce the products even though PTNM is used. PTNM is an additive enabling to improve the transparency of PP products by arranging the molecular chain structure regularly (crystallization) in the process of quenching. It is also required to maintain the working temperature above 200℃.
