1. Brief Introduction

If we keep foods, hygienic goods and/or medical supplies in vinyl bags or plastic containers for a long

period of time, we can see that such small harmful insects as ants, rice weevils, millet worms, flies,

fly bugs, drosophilas, come inside of the packages and cause lots of hygienic problems. As these

problems are caused by the instinct/habit of the insects

searching for the materials or environment with their developed senses of smeel, touch, taste and sight

(for example, ants like sweet smeel, drosophilas like sour smell, flies like rotten smell, cockroaches like

dark environment), it is not easy to prevent insects from coming inside of the packages.

One of the methods to solve these kinds of problems is to treat the food packages or containers with

the pungent natural-spices or smells which insects dislike. Capsaicin extracted from chili pepper, ginkgo

leaf, garlic, cinnamon, orange peel and herb like mint are the representive natural materials for this

application.

2. How to Use

Insects have something in common to dislike pungent or spicy smells/scents even though more or less

against them. It is proved that Insect Repellent M/B made of the concentrates extraxted from the natural

materials containing these kinds of smells/scents is superior to repell the insects.

The dosage of Insect Repellent M/B is 5% based on the base resin. Furthermore, it is possible to develop

more effective Insect Repellent M/B per insect through the study over the smells/scents that each insect

dislikes.
